Democracy and Republican Values: A Think Tank for the Republic of Tomorrowain

Founded to defend and promote the fundamental principles of the Republic, the Democracy and Republican Values (DRV) association stands out as a space for reflection and action on major political, economic, social, cultural, and environmental issues. Bringing together individuals deeply committed to Democracy, Secularism, Humanism, and Universalism, DRV organizes debates, conferences, and awareness-raising initiatives to strengthen these essential values.

At the Heart of the Republic: Secularism and Freedoms

Defending republican values—particularly secularism—is one of DRV’s core commitments. As a founding principle, secularism guarantees freedom of conscience and equality among citizens. This commitment is embodied each year by the awarding of the "Democracy and Republican Values Prize," a symbolic recognition of efforts to promote secularism in the public sphere. For DRV, the Republic is not merely a legacy of our history but a living, evolving force striving to remove barriers to individual and collective freedoms.

A Universal Project for a Just and Inclusive Society

Far beyond a mere political regime, the republican ideal upheld by DRV envisions a society of free individuals, driven by the pursuit of justice, peace, and solidarity. In the face of rising particular interests that threaten collective values, DRV advocates for a renewed civic spirit, calling on every citizen to actively contribute to the preservation of the common good.

The association is also committed to combating all forms of intolerance, racism, and exclusion. It promotes constant civic vigilance through concrete actions: public debates, visits to sites of historical memory, and educational programs aimed at raising youth awareness of republican and democratic values.

An International Presence for a Universal Republic

DRV’s mission goes beyond the borders of France. The association has established itself in several European countries, as well as in South America and Africa, working to promote civil peace and national unity. Its commitment transcends geographic boundaries, aiming to realize a vision of a Universal Republic grounded in humanism and universalism—where individual freedoms and equal rights are guaranteed for all.

Declaration of Principles: Toward a More Just Society

Equality and Dignity:

Ensuring that all citizens, regardless of their differences, enjoy the same rights and dignity.

Solidarity and Fraternity:

Promoting active solidarity among citizens to ensure mutual support—in health, employment, and social assistance.

Combating Intolerance and Hate:

DRV engages in a determined fight against racism, antisemitism, and all forms of exclusion, with a particular focus on mobilizing youth to uphold the republican ideal.

A Call to Civic Engagement

Through its actions, Democracy and Republican Values invites all citizens to join this movement. By becoming involved with DRV, every individual can help build a fairer, more democratic, and more united society that reflects the republican ideal we strive to uphold.

The association remains steadfast in pursuing this mission in defense of republican values, at a time when democracy and human rights face unprecedented challenges around the world.
