Democracy and Republican Values
Our association brings together individuals who share their commitment to the values of the Republic and Democracy:
Secularism, Humanism, Universalism.
DVR aims at organizing political, economic, social, cultural, and environmental reflection.
This reflection is accompanied by debates, symposiums, publications, and awareness-raising actions in the field.
The defense and promotion of republican values are at the heart of DVR activities, particularly secularism.
We promote our values through the awarding of an annual "DEMOCRACY REPUBLICAN VALUES" prize.
Our association serves a general interest objective.
The Republic is not just an inheritance but a dynamic aimed at overcoming or limiting obstacles to individual and collective freedoms, equality before the law, and solidarity among citizens.
Always challenged by particular interests, the Republic is not reducible to a political regime: Our republican ideal is that of a society of free men and women, devoted to justice and peace, which everyone is obligated to serve through civic spirit.
The Democracy Republican Values Association (DVR) has been committed for several years to defending the fundamental principles of the Universal Republic and promoting the democratic ideal.
A few lines to reflect these essential values:
Declaration of Principles of the Democracy Republican Values Association
Preamble
The values of the Republic, democracy, and secularism are the pillars of our community.
Within DVR, we believe in a "Universal Republic," founded on humanism and universalism.
These principles are the foundations of our individual liberties and equal rights.
Our Commitments
Equality and Dignity:
We recognize that each individual is unique, with natural differences and varied talents. The Republic does not deny these differences but guarantees to all the same dignity and rights, regardless of their gender, size, strength, or intelligence.
Our association is committed to promoting legal equality among all citizens, without distinction of origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or belief.
Solidarity and Fraternity:
Fraternity goes beyond family ties. It represents a broader relationship between individuals, based on solidarity and mutual aid.
We believe in an obligation of solidarity within society. This is reflected in measures aimed at helping those in need, ensuring a public health system, compensating involuntarily unemployed individuals, and providing refuge for those who can no longer manage their existence alone.
Combatting Intolerance and Hatred:
In the face of current challenges, we must collectively combat the manifestation of racism, anti-Semitism, intolerance, and exclusion.
We encourage vigilance and citizen involvement, especially among the youth, through debates, museum visits, and concrete actions to defend the republican ideal and democracy.
In summary:
Our DVR association is present in many French departments, as well as several European countries, in South America, and in Africa. Together, we work for civil peace, national unity, and the defense of republican values.
This Declaration of Principles reflects our commitment to a fairer, more solidarity-driven, and more democratic society.
We invite all citizens to join us and engage in this noble cause.
